Tottenham Hotspur want Arne Slot and Dutch analyst Kenneth Perez has admitted that he would make the move from Feyenoord to North London.

Slot has emerged as a serious candidate to replace Antonio Conte as Tottenham boss.

The Feyenoord boss is on the brink of winning the Eredivisie title and has guided Feyenoord to the last eight of the Europa League.

Slot’s results – and superb brand of attacking football – have put him right on Tottenham’s managerial wish list.

The Times claimed in March that Slot is on Tottenham’s wish list to replace Conte.

The Independent suggested last week that Tottenham have been using ‘back channels’ to test Slot’s interest in the job.

Slot has much to think about as he at least sees out the season with Feyenoord, but what comes next is anybody’s guess.

Arne Slot told to take Tottenham Hotspur job

Slot’s future is a big topic of discussion over in the Netherlands.

Analyst Kenneth Perez – a former AZ, Ajax and PSV winger – has now offered his take.

As quoted by FR12, Perez has credited Slot with being the main reason for Feyenoord’s rise this season.

Perez noted that millions will be pouring into Feyenoord this summer and the club must decide what do do with the cash.

Perez feels that the best plan would be to give Slot a blank cheque to stay for years to come, believing that’s more important than new signings.

When tackling the subject of Tottenham, Perez admitted that he would take the job if he was in Slot’s position.

Perez noted that his stance is perhaps selfish as he understands that Slot doesn’t want to take his children out of school in the Netherlands.

Perez still thinks Slot should take the job and believes the problem with his kids can be resolved in London.

“’This trainer has made the whole difference at Feyenoord”, said Perez. “Despite the lead of eight points over the numbers two and three, Slot has not yet made any major statements in the media. He still says, ‘We’re doing really well.’ And that’s okay. The championship remains the best prize. Then you are not only champion, but you also get much further as a club because you see all those millions pouring in.”

“Then the question is, what are you going to do with it? Are you going to offer Arne Slot a huge contract, which has never been seen in the Netherlands, or are you betting that you invest more in players and then with another trainer? As a policymaker at Feyenoord, I would rather spend ten to fifteen million euros on three years of Arne Slot than invest it in three or four new players. In fact, you should give him a blank check.”

“If I were Slot, and Tottenham came along, I would go to Tottenham. But Slot has dropped that a departure would not be very good because of his children, who are in secondary school. That also says something about him. Selfish perhaps, but if I could go to Tottenham, we would work for the children to find a solution,” he added.
