Tottenham Hotspur’s recent form in the Premier League has not been great.
Former Chelsea and Everton winger Pat Nevin has told Newstalk, as quoted by The Sport Review, that Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino does not trust Eric Dier or Kevin Wimmer.
Dier is one of the best and most talented players in the current Tottenham squad, but the England international is not guaranteed a place in the starting lineup.
The 22-year-old, who can operate as a defender or as a defensive midfielder, though, remains a key player for Spurs.
Wimmer, who is 23 years of age and plays as a centre-back, has played just once in the Premier League so far this campaign.

Former Chelsea and Everton winger Nevin, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, has suggested that Tottenham manager Pochettino does not trust Dier or Wimmer when Toby Alderweireld or Jan Vertonghen is not available.
“I don’t think Mauricio Pochettino would say it out loud but when you lose Toby Alderweireld and you haven’t got Jan Vertonghen with him, you probably don’t trust what else is coming in,” Nevin told Newstalk, as quoted by The Sport Review.
“Eric Dier is a good player but is he a natural centre-half? Kevin Wimmer hasn’t played a lot of games.
“Which one of them will do a job? Neither so get both of them in. They end up playing three at the back. It’s one of the oldest tricks in the book.”

Tottenham’s recent form in the Premier League has not been great, and there is also the chance that they could fail to progress to the last 16 of the Champions League.
The North London outfit are fifth in the league table at the moment with 21 points from 11 matches.
Spurs are five points behind leaders Liverpool and three behind North London rivals Arsenal, who are currently fourth in the standings and occupy the final Champions League spot.
