Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will face each other in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has named in The Daily Mail four players who will be key in the Premier League game between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea on Wednesday evening.
Tottenham and Chelsea will face each other in the London derby at White Hart Lane in a few hours’ time.
Keown, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, has suggested that Spurs full-backs Kyle Walker and Danny Rose and Chelsea duo Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso will be decisive in the outcome.
“The tactical side of this game is also intriguing, particularly the two teams’ backlines,” Keown wrote in The Daily Mail. “Both have succeeded with three at the back this season — with Mauricio Pochettino experimenting with the system of late — and the key to this has been excellent wing-back play.
“You could argue that, in Kyle Walker and Danny Rose, Spurs have the best players in the league in these positions.
“The role has changed a lot since my day — modern wing backs often cover more ground than anyone in the team, and as such are now smaller and more athletic.
“Chelsea’s Victor Moses — a revelation this season — also fits this description, while Marcos Alonso is bigger and less attacking, but understands the role very well indeed.”
Chelsea are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 49 points from 19 matches, five points clear of second-placed Liverpool, who have played a game more.
The Blues will head into the match against Spurs on the back of a 4-2 victory over Stoke City at Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Conte’s side have won their last 13 Premier League matches and are favourites for the Premier League title.
Meanwhile, Tottenham currently find themselves fifth in the standings with 39 points from 19 matches.
Spurs have won their last four Premier League games and are very much in the running for a top-four finish.
