Ray Parlour has suggested on talkSPORT (7:35am, September 25, 2020) that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli would be a good signing for Arsenal and would be a better fit than Chelsea’s Jorginho.

However, the former Arsenal star – who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT – does not think that Tottenham will sell the England international midfielder to their bitter North London rivals.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are looking at Chelsea midfielder Jorginho as a potential alternative to Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

According to The Telegraph, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Alli from Spurs in the summer transfer window.

Parlour said on talkSPORT (7:35am, September 25, 2020): “He would be more of a fit than Jorginho. They lack goals from midfield.

“Spurs would never sell Alli to Arsenal. Sol [Campbell] was different because he was on a free transfer, Spurs didn’t sell him. There would be uproar from the Spurs fans.

“They lack goals from midfield areas, and he ticks that box – he’ll get you 10 goals. Whether Arteta can get more out of him, well players are responding. Arsenal fans would be happy, they would be getting a quality player off their rivals.”

Dele Alli or Jorginho to Arsenal?

There is no report in any media outlets that Arsenal want Alli, and it is hard to see Spurs entertain any kind of offers for the 24-year-old England international from their bitter North London rivals.

As for Jorginho joining the Gunners, there have been instances of transfers between them and Chelsea, and that could well happen again.

In recent years, Petr Cech and David Luiz joined Arsenal from Chelsea, while Olivier Giroud moved to the Gunners from the Blues, and Willian left Frank Lampard’s side to switch to Mikel Arteta’s side on a free transfer this summer.
