Chris Sutton has slammed Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus and Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison for diving during their respective games at the weekend.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham suffered defeats during their Premier League matches – Nottingham Forest survived relegation by beating Mikel Arteta’s side, whilst Brentford came from 1-0 down to beat Spurs 3-1.

But the actions of Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison didn’t sit well with Chris Sutton, who thinks the latter has ‘history’ of ‘going down easily’ just like his fellow countryman, as he told 606 on BBC Radio 5 Live.

It’s the norm in the modern game of players going down like they have been shot, even if they receive the slightest of contact.

In some cases, if your team does it, and that player wins a penalty, then you aren’t too bothered, but if referees were more strict in calling it out, then players would do it a lot less.

But following the weekend of Premier League action, Sutton was sure to call out two players from north London.

“Jesus went down too easily,” said Sutton. “Richarlison, he has a history of it as well. What’s with these Brazillian’s going down too easy?

“It doesn’t matter where you are in the world. We will call you out.”

MIXED SEASONS FOR JESUS AND RICHARLISON

Both joined their respective clubs as big-money signings in the summer, but the duo have had different seasons than they would have hoped.

Whilst Jesus’ Arsenal missed out on the Premier League title, the aim at the start of the season was to get back into the Champions League, and they have done that.

But, for Richarlison, Spurs are at risk of missing out on Europe altogether, with the former Everton man only scoring one Premier League goal since his club-record transfer.
