Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has been criticised by Glenn Murray following Spurs’ weekend win.
The Optus Sport pundit said the Lilywhites summer signing’s stats are “just not good enough”.
Murray also commented on Richarlison’s “demeanour” in wake of his bold comments last week.
The Tottenham ace appeared to criticise Antonio Conte following the Champions League exit to AC Milan.
The Spurs manager retaliated by claiming that Richarlison was being “selfish”.
It was therefore a bit surprising to see the 25-year-old make the starting XI against Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
Richarlison delivered an impressive display and had the ball in the back of the net as early as the third minute.
However, VAR cruelly denied the Brazilian his first Premier League goal for the Lilywhites.
Despite that disappointment, Richarlison did everything but score, helping his teammates get on the scoresheet.
It was a promising display from the former Everton man, but Murray was still not happy with him.
“Especially after Conte’s comments after Richarlison’s comments,” he began.
“I was surprised to see him but he had fire in his belly and a point to prove and to a certain extent he proved it.
“They signed him for a lot of money to help Kane and Son and kick them on to the next level but that’s not happened yet.
“The comments midweek were probably born out of frustration.
“It’s his demeanour, he might be a brilliant teammate but you look at his stats and they’re just not good enough.”

It hasn’t been a great season for Richarlison. He has admitted as much himself (in slightly stronger terms).
However, his display against Forest was impressive, and he really should’ve had a goal.
All you can do is learn from the past and apply it to the present and future.
Sure, Richarlison’s stats for the season haven’t been good enough.
But if he finishes strongly and hits the goal trail, it’ll bode well for next term.
