Tony Cascarino has given his verdict on the prospect of Tottenham Hotspur appointing Julian Nagelsmann.
The pundit, speaking on The Times’ The Game Football Podcast, said the 35-year-old’s style of football is “crazy”.
Speculation linking Tottenham and Nagelsmann has intensified in recent days.
The German was previously one of multiple names doing the rounds with regards to the Spurs manager vacancy.
Tottenham then appeared to be behind in the race for Nagelsmann as he reportedly held talks with Chelsea.
However, the 35-year-old snubbed the chance to take the Blues reins, giving Spurs a boost in pursuit of his services.
At the weekend, BILD – via Sport Witness – claimed that Nagelsmann and Tottenham were in ‘hot’ negotiations.
The coach was apparently approached by Spurs just after being relieved of his Bayern Munich duties.
At the time, he wanted to take time out of the game, but now he’s ready and ‘very much tempted’ by Tottenham.

Now, negotiations between Nagelsmann and Tottenham are ‘getting hot’, claimed the BILD report.
However, Cascarino doesn’t seem to be a particularly big fan of the former Bayern man’s philosophy.
He said: “Do you go after Nagelsmann who has been kicked out of Bayern Munich?
“I’m not criticising him as a manager, but is he going to be the man for Spurs?
“I’ve seen his teams play, it’s crazy football, he did it at Leipzig.
“You need to find the man you really believe will take the club in a different direction.
“There is no guarantee on a manager.”
Our view
Tottenham will know that “there is no guarantee on a manager” more than any other club in recent years.
Spurs have tried with two serial winners in Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, and neither worked out.
They also tried with a young coach in Nuno Espirito Santo, and that lasted just a few months.
However, Nagelsmann has clearly shown that he has what it takes to succeed at the highest level.
Indeed, many eyebrows were raised after Bayern decided to relieve him of his duties.
Tottenham need a young, hungry manager who can take on a long-term project and grow with the club.
Nagelsmann very much seems to fit the bill for the North Londoners.
Besides, “crazy football” isn’t necessarily a bad thing when it’s successful.
