La Liga expert Terry Gibson believes Sevilla should demand at least £50 million for Youssef En-Nesyri amid interest from West Ham United and Liverpool, as he told El Tel and Jon’s La Liga Weekly podcast.

Blessed with a top-class goalkeeper, two fine central defenders and a host of excellent midfield options, Sevilla always appeared to be one prolific centre-forward away from becoming a truly fearsome football team.

Fortunately, Youssef En-Nesyri has stepped up to the plate in quite spectacular style.

The Moroccan’s latest effort, in the 2-0 midweek win against Eibar means, he has now scored a career-best 21 goals this season – and 15 in La Liga.

Sevilla managed to hang on to En-Nesyri during the January transfer window, but it remains to be seen if they can repeat the trick in the summer too.

West Ham failed with a £22.5 million bid and are expected to be back in touch before long (the Guardian). According to 90Min, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are taking a keen interest too.

But how much should En-Nesyri cost in today’s market?

“For a striker of his age, with the goals he’s scoring this season, he’s got to be £50 million-plus now,” said Gibson.

“My opinion, until this season, has been that one minute he looks like a world-beater, the next he looks like a novice; gangly, trips over the ball.

“But, when you look at his attributes, he’s as good in the air as anyone now. Not only is he tall, he’s got that athletic ability to leap as well. He seems to really enjoy aerial challenges.

“He’s quick, he’s strong, great attitude, his finishing has improved, his first touch has improved, his movement has improved – all those things you expect players to improve on, he is doing.”

En-Nesyri has scored six times in the Champions League this season, netted two La Liga hat-tricks and also produced the only goal of the game in the recent derby victory over Real Betis.
