Speaking on ESPN’s YouTube Channel, Steve Nicol has lavished praise on Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, while also claiming that he’s actually funny to watch on the pitch.
Nicol says that the 19-year-old is hilarious to watch on the pitch, and while you’d usually associate funny goalkeepers with making mistakes, Nicol says that he’s funny because of his facial expressions.
The Liverpool legend says that it’s humorous to see him looking so calm all the time, despite the fact that he’s a teenager playing in goal for arguably the biggest club in the world right now.
“I actually find it quite funny watching him,” Nicol said about Kelleher.
“I mean his face never changes regardless, he’s never sweating whether he’s making an incredible diving save or just rolling a ball out.”
“The kid’s amazing, for a 19-year-old, he looks as calm as I’ve ever seen a 19-year-old, in my opinion that’s one of the biggest attributes you need to have when you’re in goal. I think he’s fantastic.”

Kelleher’s ability to stay calm and composed in recent weeks has made sure that the Reds haven’t missed Alisson that much.
The teenager hasn’t conceded a goal in either of his last two games, and he’s been simply unbelievable as a backup.
Nicol isn’t the first pundit to give him such praise, and he certainly won’t be the last if he carries on performing the way he has been.
Kelleher certainly won’t mind if people are laughing at his facial expressions as long as his composure allows him to continue playing the way he has been.
