Speaking on ESPN, Don Hutchison has claimed that Mohamed Salah is ‘ever so slightly’ better than Kylian Mbappe.
Interestingly, this comes in the same week that it was reported that the Reds are trying to convince the Frenchman to come to Anfield ahead of a potential move this summer.
With Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s superpowers waning, the wider footballing world is seemingly on the lookout for the new ‘best player in the world’ and at the moment, it seems as though Salah and Mbappe are the two top contenders.
Hutchison was asked which player he thought was better, and he gave Salah the nod over the £166m man.
What’s been said?
The pundit chose Salah over Mbappe.
“Let’s give Don a shot at this question shall we? Don, Mo Salah or Kylian Mbappe?” The host asked.
“I would lean ever so slightly to Mo Salah, consistency, numbers, Mo Salah,” Hutchison said.

This is an incredibly tough one to call, but to be honest, we’d probably side with Salah.
Yes, Mbappe is a World Cup winner, but Salah has proven himself in the Premier League year after year, and he’s also won the Champions League.
Mbappe, of course, has time on his hands and he could carve out an incredible legacy in years to come, but at the moment, Salah is the top dog in world football.
Who knows? With reports claiming that Liverpool are in for Mbappe, perhaps we could see the pair play together in years to come.
