Janusz Michallik thinks Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai is of a ‘higher level’ than Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
Liverpool and Arsenal are blessed to have the trio play for their respective teams because they are some of the best players in the Premier League and their ceiling is endless.
But former USMNT international Janusz Michallik thinks that Dominik Szoboszlai’s ceiling is ‘higher’ than two of Arsenal’s rising stars, as he told ESPN.
Michallik stated that Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are ‘impact’ players, whereas Dominik Szoboszlai is more of a ‘Luka Modric-type’ player where the team ‘doesn’t function’ without him.
Liverpool signed the 22-year-old Hungary star this summer, as he was tasked with trying to help a midfield that lost all its quality, energy and bite last season.
And, within months of playing in the Premier League, Dominik Szoboszlai is already a fan favourite and a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Dominik Szoboszlai ‘higher level’ than Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli
“When it comes to ceilings, I could see how 10-15 years from now, how a player like Enzo (Fernandez) or Szoboszlai are, maybe, higher than Saka and Martinelli.
“It’s different. They rely on very much scoring goals. Or making the game, in terms of assists. Being the impact player.
“Whereas I look at Enzo and Szoboszlai and they could be the Modric’s of the world, where for every season consistently, they are the engine room.
“When I look at players like Enzo and Szoboszlai, I almost feel like, without them, the team doesn’t function. That’s the beauty of that player. That’s why they are sometimes overlooked.
“But in my mind, they are at a higher level than Saka and Martinelli, because if they don’t score, then sometimes you feel like, they could be replaced.”

Dominik Szoboszlai is already a key player
During the early rounds of the new Premier League season, you can already put Szoboszlai’s name up in lights as someone who has been one of the best purchases of the summer window.
He is a player that Klopp has been crying out for because he provides the all-round box-to-box qualities the team needs.
What’s even better for the Anfield faithful is that Szoboszlai has only just started, as there are many levels for the all-acton midfielder to hit.
