Jose Enrique has heralded the ‘great news’ from Jurgen Klopp’s press conference about Liverpool’s injury news.

The Reds have badly missed the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Ibrahima Konate in recent weeks.

Both Liverpool players have endured stop-start campaigns due to injuries.

But they’re available for Sunday’s visit of Leeds United to Anfield and here’s how the former Reds left-back reacted on Twitter:

The Liverpool injury news has made for grim reading in recent months, with Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz two of the latest players to be ruled out for an extended period of time, missing the World Cup with Portugal and Colombia respectively.

In hindsight, you can entirely understand why the Anfield outfit are struggling so much this season.

Liverpool host Leeds United on the back of a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest last week, though.

And although it’s undeniable that Klopp’s side have been hit hard on the injury front, there’s also no denying that the German has enough quality in his squad to see off the newly-promoted Forest.

With that in mind, there might be something deeper happening regarding Liverpool’s form, beyond mere absences.

If they drop more points versus Leeds tonight, despite Konate and Thiago’s return, then that’ll be more evidence of that.
