Harry Kane scored a header for Tottenham Hotspur last night in their Champions League victory over Red Star Belfrade.

Spurs won 5-0, getting their European campaign back on track.

Pundit Richard Keys pointed out that the headed goal was a rarity for Kane, noting that he hasn’t scored one in the Premier League.

Keys also noted that rivals Arsenal have not scored a header since Olivier Giroud left for Chelsea in a £18 million move.

Keys’ message looked at the changing style of modern football, in which a striker who can head the ball is less valuable than in previous eras.

Arsenal’s forwards, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are different styles, preferring to play instinctively with the ball at their feet.

However, loanee Eddie Nketiah scored a valuable headed equaliser in the Championship at Leeds last night to secure his team a point.

Long touted as Arsenal’s answer to Harry Kane, he might prove to be the all round striker they eventually turn to.

Arsenal could have done with a player able to stick his head on a cross away at Sheffield United on Monday night.
