Jason Cundy has told talkSPORT that Neymar would not get in the England side ahead of Chelsea star Mason Mount.

Recently, the Guardian have reported that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the Chelsea midfielder’s contract situation, as it expires in 2024.
In May, it was even claimed by the Sun that Eddie Howe was eyeing an ambitious move for the England international to join Newcastle.
However, the Athletic have stated that there has been a “breakthrough” in the contract talks between Mount and Chelsea.
Only time will tell where the 23-year-old will play his football for the time being.
Especially considering a queue of suitors may line up for the youngster if he continues to impress at the World Cup, as he did against Iran.
Cundy believes Mount starts for England ahead of Neymar
Keeping his future aside, it has been claimed by Jason Cundy on talkSPORT that Neymar would not get in the England team ahead of Mason Mount.
“Yes! 100%!”, he opened.
Cundy continued, “And I’ll tell you why! Because Neymar won’t do what Mount does, he won’t do the dirty work, he won’t.
When Jamie O’Hara interjected by saying Mount cannot replicate what Neymar can, Cundy replied, “That’s fine, that’s fine.
“But if you’re not a team player, you can’t get in the team! I’m not having it, mate. Neymar is not a team player, mate! He’s not.
“Can you imagine if Neymar was English in that [Gareth] Southgate squad? Can you imagine the disruption? What it would do? The effect it would have, he’s not part of the gang.”
While there is no denying that Mason Mount is a brilliant, and often underrated midfielder, to claim an all-time great such as Neymar would not start ahead of him for England is ludicrous to put it kindly.
