Arsenal’s poor run in the Premier League continued with a goalless draw against Leeds United on Sunday. The Gunners were really poor in the first half, and Nicolas Pepe’s sending off in the 51st minute gave the hosts the upper hand.

Surprisingly, Arsenal looked better with 10 men. The Gunners had a golden opportunity to steal the win, but Bukayo Saka failed to convert what was their best chance of the game.

Mikel Arteta’s men had just 33% possession and had just two shots on target in the entire game. Their passing was poor with just 70% accuracy, while their problems with creativity continued.

The ball to send Saka through on goal was simply brilliant, but that came from Hector Bellerin. The Spaniard deserves praise for the pass but that fact that he is Arsenal’s main source of creativity at the moment is a big concern.

Mesut Ozil’s career at the Emirates is over while Dani Ceballos’s deep positioning makes it difficult for him to create chances. Granit Xhaka hasn’t quite been able to provide those key passes either which is why the Gunners have gone over seven hours in the league without scoring a goal from open play.

The January transfer window in just a few weeks away and a number 10 will be high on Arsenal’s wish list. Darren Bent has suggested a creative player for Arteta, and the Gunners can sign him tomorrow if they wanted to.

Jack Wilshere was a fan favourite at Arsenal during his time at the club. The Englishman left the Emirates in 2018 and joined West Ham United, but his contract there was terminated earlier this summer.

The former Gunners man is now a free agent. He has been linked with moves to Scotland, Spain and even Italy, but should Arteta make a move for the midfielder who recently claimed he is ‘an Arsenal man’? (Super 6 podcast)

Fans will welcome the move with open arms, but Wilshere’s fitness problems are still a big concern. He has had multiple issues over the years and the last thing that Arsenal need now is another creative player on big wages who cannot play.
