Tam McManus has claimed that the only Rangers player who Steven Gerrard may bring to Aston Villa is Glen Kamara.
Speculation is rife this morning that the newly-appointed Aston Villa boss wants to poach Kent from Ibrox.
It was Gerrard who brought the Liverpool academy player to Rangers in 2019.
And there’ll be a lot more rumours over the coming weeks regarding the 24-year-old following his former coach to Villa.
But McManus, speaking to PLZ Soccer, has suggested that the only Ger who Gerrard might sign is Kamara.
He said: “I don’t think Kent’s good enough to play at club like Aston Villa. For me it’s only Kamara. I don’t think Kent [is good enough]. I don’t think Goldson’s good enough for the English Premier League.”
Inevitable talk
There isn’t much talk about Morelos going to Villa Park….yet.
But it seems inevitable that speculation will crop up about the Rangers man following Gerrard, too.
That being said, the 41-year-old coach probably won’t go for the Colombian.
As good as Morelos is, he’s inconsistent even in Scotland and therefore he has the potential to be a major – and expensive – liability in the Premier League.
In terms of talent and consistency, McManus is probably right in saying that Kamara fits the bill more than anyone else at Rangers.
