Pundit and former Premier League ace Micky Gray has told talkSPORT that Tottenham scout Ian Broomfield thinks Vincent Janssen will fit into Spurs’ style of play.
After Harry Kane was effectively run into the ground over the last two years, Tottenham had to bring another striker to the club to cover for Kane in case of injury of suspension.

Whilst Mauricio Pochettino was linked with a host of strikers, he eventually completed a swoop for Vincent Janssen, paying £17m to prise him away from AZ Alkmaar, as claimed by Sky Sports.
The 22-year-old Dutch international hit 31 goals for AZ in all competitions last season, and his displays in the Netherlands tempted Pochettino into signing him – despite the questionable record of players moving from the Eredivisie to the Premier League.
So far, Janssen has mostly been used as a substitute, as many expected, but he’ll now be called upon to lead Tottenham’s attack after Kane suffered ankle ligament damage, ruling him out for a considerable period of time.

Janssen will hope to score his first Tottenham goal quickly, and ahead of this weekend’s game against Middlesbrough – a match Janssen should start – former England and Premier League defender Micky Gray has spoken about the striker.
Gray has told talkSPORT that he has spoken to Tottenham scout Ian Broomfield, who was behind a move for Janssen, and shared his thoughts on the player.

Gray claims that Broomfield doesn’t think Janssen is ‘fantastic’ at anything, his all-round game means he will fit in at White Hart Lane, and Gray says he can’t wait to see Janssen get a regular run in the team.
“They will still be getting to know him as a player but the man who was behind bringing him to the club was Ian Broomfield, who I speak to quite a lot,” said Gray. “He does a lot of the dealings at Tottenham. I asked him what he was like and he said he is not fantastic at anything, he is not the quickest, he is not the strongest, he is not the best in the air, but his all-round game is fitted to the way Tottenham play.”
“I am looking forward to seeing him get a nice little run in the side. Eventually he will get judged by goals but when the first one comes it is a knock-on effect. They got 22 chances against Sunderland, so he is going to get chances to put the ball in back of the net,” he added.
