Pundit Richards Keys has said that Tottenham Hotspur should bring in Burnley boss Vincent Kompany to replace Antonio Conte instead of Mauricio Pochettino.
The former Chelsea manager seems to be heading towards the exit door at Spurs, with a number of top candidates linked with succeeding him.
While Thomas Frank flat-out denied any chances of him doing so, it has been suggested that Thomas Tuchel is a ‘serious candidate’ but would only say yes if the promise of building a title-winning team is made.
And now pundit Richard Keys says that either the German or Vincent Kompany should be brought in as the replacement for Antonio Conte at Tottenham instead of Mauricio Pochettino.
Pundit says Tottenham should avoid Pochettino and replace Conte with Kompany
The Belgian tactician has transformed the fortunes of Burnley, making them one of the most entertaining teams to watch in English football while ensuring that they sit 10 points clear at the top of the Championship.
Now, pundit Richard Keys has tweeted that Tottenham should avoid the Mauricio Pochettino route and instead appoint Vincent Kompany if Antonio Conte leaves his post.

“I’m reading Conte might ‘check out’ of Spurs at the end of the season. Mentally, he already has. And that serial under-achiever Pochettino is wanted back. Why? Surely Tuchel is the best choice? Or Kompany? What a job he’s currently doing.”
Too early for Kompany
For starters, Spurs have got it wrong on far too many occasions with managers in the past couple of years and the last thing they can do is take an uncalculated gamble.
Kompany should also test himself in the Premier League with Burnley rather than taking as big a leap as joining Tottenham, with the club even perhaps being more suited to appointing Pochettino if Conte leaves, regardless of what the pundit believes.
With Pep Guardiola tipping the 36-year-old to manage Manchester City one day, it’s clear to see that he will not be short on some of the most enticing opportunities in the game if he continues on the same path.
