Pundit Paul Robinson has said that Tottenham Hotspur should appoint Vincent Kompany instead of Julian Nagelsmann as their next manager.
It was reported recently that Spurs were genuinely interested in bringing the Burnley boss on board, while links to Nagelsmann were also relentless during the same period.

While the general consensus amongst Tottenham Hotspur fans is that the club should bring in Julian Nagelsmann, pundit Paul Robinson has made a case on BBC’s Football Show for why Vincent Kompany should be the man they should go for.
Paul Robinson says Tottenham should appoint Kompany, not Nagelsmann
Many might scoff at Robinson’s suggestion as the former Bayern Munich tactician is rightly considered as one of the best managers in the world.
While as talented as Kompany seems, this is his second job in management.
But pundit Paul Robinson seems to back Vincent Kompany as a superior fit to Julian Nagelsmann for the Tottenham job, saying, “For me personally, I’d look for a longer-term project. I think Vincent Kompany’s done an excellent job at Burnley.”
“The way that he’s man managed that side, the transition of players that he’s had in a short time, the way he’s changed the style of the club, the way that they play and that’s a long-term manager with serious quality.”
“I’d like to see them go for someone like Vincent Kompany. I don’t think they will. I think they’ll go down the [Julian] Nagelsmann or [Mauricio] Pochettino route.”
The pundit makes a fair point but Nagelsmann is the safer bet
Not to say that pundit Paul Robinson does not make a strong case in favour of Vincent Kompany getting the Tottenham job but ultimately, Julian Nagelsmann has been there and done that.
Handling a project similar to Spurs in RB Leipzig whilst having dealt with big personalities at Bayern, Nagelsmann’s tactical acumen is also backed with experience, which cannot be said for the Belgian.
With the competition in the Premier League showing no signs of slowing down, Tottenham must weigh up the risk and reward element of every possible option and the German may triumph in that department.
