West Ham United have endured a woeful start to their campaign.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ programme Goals on Sunday at 11:56 am on December 4th, Hammers legend Trevor Sinclair offered his opinion on the current problems at West Ham, and was highly critical of Slaven Bilic’s punditry role at the European Championships throughout the course of the summer.

The East London outfit turned in one of the worst performances the Premier League has witnessed all season, with many of their players showing a total lack of commitment, passion and intensity.

And Sinclair, who made 177 Premier League appearances for West Ham, believes that Bilic should take some of the blame for his side’s woeful form so far this season, telling Goals on Sunday:

“I’ve mentioned it before, but I thought him working for a broadcaster for the European Championships in the summer was possibly a little bit of mis-spent time. I know you’re still looking at players and teams but you’re not actually scouting individuals that you’re going to bring to the club. Zaza joined the club, and for me, he was probably not the right player.”

It doesn’t get any easier for Bilic’s men, with a trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool next weekend in the Premier League.

It is, however, the three fixtures following their game against the Reds which will arguably define the Hammers’ season.

Back-to-back home games against Burnley and Hull City respectively are followed by a trip to Swansea City on Boxing Day, and Bilic must surely be targeting nine points from those games if he is to remain in the job as his side head into the new year.
