Could Celtic forward Moussa Dembele end up like Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi if he leaves in the summer transfer window?

Celtic forward Moussa Dembele is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership. Dembele is scoring goals regularly and has established himself as a key figure in Brendan Rodgers’s team.

The 20-year-old forward has scored 26 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops so far this season, having joined from English club Fulham in the summer of 2016.

Dembele has been linked with moves away from the Glasgow giants in the summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are interested in signing the youngster. The Mirror has also credited Spanish giants Real Madrid with a move for the 20-year-old.

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton, has suggested that Dembele should not leave the Glasgow giants in the summer transfer window.

Sutton has given the example of Michy Batshuayi to warn the former Fulham youngster.

Batshuayi joined Premier League giants Chelsea from French club Marseille in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £33 million.

The 23-year-old striker has scored one goal and created one chance in 16 league matches for the Blues so far this season.

“Let me be clear on this, Dembele would be better served staying at the club for at least another year and a half,” Sutton wrote in The Daily Record.

“If he needs an example, he need only look onto the bench at Stamford Bridge every week and see Michy Batshuayi.

“Chelsea paid £33 million for the Belgian last summer and he hasn’t started a single Premier League game.

“At the age of 23, he doesn’t play. Batshuayi’s last three outings in the top-flight have the final three minutes as sub against Hull, another three against Liverpool and another one solitary minute at Burnley last weekend.”
