Rangers will return to action this afternoon when they take on Old Firm rivals Celtic away from home.

The Gers will lock horns with the Bhoys at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership in a few hours’ time.

The Ibrox outfit will head into the match against Celtic on the back of a 6-0 victory over Hamilton Academical at Ibrox in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Rangers have won their last two competitive fixtures and will fancy their chances of collecting at least a point against Brendan Rodgers’s team.

Celtic, though, are strong favourites for the match, and it will be a massive surprise if they lose.

The Hoops have the best and strongest squad in the Scottish Premiership and are also unbeaten in the league so far.

It will be hard for Rangers to win against the Hoops, but Neil McCann has an idea how they can claim all three points.

The former Rangers winger has suggested that the Ibrox outfit should play like St. Mirren did last weekend.

St. Mirren forced Celtic to come from behind to win the Scottish Premiership game 4-1 at Celtic Park.

“If Murty is looking for inspiration then he only needs to look at what St Mirren did last Sunday,” McCann wrote in The Scotsman. “Jack Ross came up with a game plan that worked a treat for almost 60 minutes. Celtic didn’t have many answers to it.

“In the end indiscipline, small mistakes and, of course, the quality of the opposition when presented with a chance effectively killed St Mirren’s chances of a giantkilling act at Celtic Park.

“However, it made me think whether a better team, with respect to St Mirren, could use the same template with better players, last the distance and get a result.”

Meanwhile, Kevin Thomson has outlined a dilemma Rangers caretaker-manager Graeme Murty will face against Celtic.

“For the sake of his reputation, Murty will go to Celtic Park and set out to make sure they are not trounced again,” the former Rangers midfielder wrote in The Scotsman.

“The alternative way of looking at it is he thinks ‘I only have one chance to be manager in an Old Firm game, I want to go there and have a go’. That’s the dilemma.”
