Tottenham Hotspur have the best defensive record of any Premier League side this season.
Danny Higginbotham has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 9th December, that Tottenham Hotspur are the only top team in the Premier League not to have a shortage of central defenders.
Tottenham have arguably the best central defensive pairing in the Premier League in Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld.
Spurs also have Kevin Wimmer and Eric Dier in reserve, at centre-back, and Higginbotham feels that they are the only top flight club who won’t be looking to strengthen their backline in January.

“There’s a real shortage of top class centre-backs,” Higginbotham said. “You can look at Spurs and say they’re set-up, but if you look at the rest of the teams you would say that centre-back will on the list of players that they want.”
Tottenham currently have the best defensive record of any side in the Premier League table.
Spurs have only conceded 10 goals in their first 14 league games this season, and they have proven very hard to breakdown.
Tottenham’s strong defence has helped them become very hard to beat, and Mauricio Pochettino’s men have only lost once all season.
Tottenham are currently in fifth place in the top flight standings, and they are only three points outside the top four.
Spurs are next in action this weekend, when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford.
