Ange Postecoglou has left Celtic for Tottenham Hotspur but doubts have been cast over Cameron Carter-Vickers following him.
Brian Laudrup doesn’t think Ange Postecoglou will bring Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers back to Tottenham Hotspur.
Postecoglou became Tottenham boss on Tuesday morning after days of rumours surrounding a move.
The Australian has been on a long road to landing a Premier League job and will be desperate to grasp this chance with both hands.
Top quality recruitment was a key feature of Postecoglou’s time at Celtic and he must now try to bring that eye for talent to Spurs.
Some have wondered whether Postecoglou will return to Celtic to try and bring some of his players over to London.
Kyogo Furuhashi and Reo Hatate are popular names in that regard, as is winger Jota.
Defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has also been talked about given that he is a former Tottenham player himself.
A highly-regarded defender in his early days at Tottenham, Carter-Vickers has kicked on to become a star at Celtic.
Now becoming the player many expected, Carter-Vickers may be on Postecoglou’s wish list – but pundit Laudrup doesn’t think so.

Brian Laudrup doubts Cameron Carter-Vickers to Tottenham Hotspur
Former Rangers and Chelsea man Laudrup has told the Daily Mail that he has been a huge fan of Carter-Vickers.
Laudrup feels that the American centre back has been ‘in a class of his own’ in Scotland, developing into a star under Postecoglou.
However, Laudrup believes that Carter-Vickers failing to make a breakthrough at Tottenham in the past means there is doubt over whether a return would work.
“Well, I’ve been a great fan of Cameron Carter-Vickers since he came to Celtic. He’s been in a class of his own in Scotland,” said Laudrup. “But I’m well aware he was at Spurs before and didn’t make a first-team breakthrough, so I don’t know whether it would be something that could work,” he added.
That may be from Carter-Vickers’ side rather than Postecoglou’s.
Carter-Vickers spent so long desperate to break through at Tottenham and, more often than not, ended up out on loan.
Now finally playing regularly and developing brilliantly, Carter-Vickers won’t want to do anything to put that situation at risk.
If Carter-Vickers is to leave Celtic, it needs to be somewhere with guaranteed starting minutes.
That just doesn’t seem to be the case at Tottenham and we could hardly blame the 25-year-old for being doubtful about following Postecoglou.
