Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginbotham has taken to Twitter to send a message to Garry Monk and James Beattie after Leeds United’s 3-2 win at Norwich City.

Saturday’s game at Carrow Road saw hosts Norwich – who had lost their last two Championship games, including a 5-0 away defeat at Brighton – take on Leeds, who had conversely won their last two games against Wolves and Burton Albion.

In a topsy-turvy encounter, Robbie Brady opened the scoring for Norwich before Pontus Jansson and Chris Wood struck to put Leeds 2-1 up.

Norwich thought they had rescued a point when Kyle Lafferty turned the ball home on 88 minutes, but Leeds struck an injury-time winner when Ronaldo Vieira smashed home a superb long-range strike.

The result means that Leeds now sit in the play-off places, and Garry Monk’s men are generating some real momentum as fans begin to get excited about a possible push for promotion to the Premier League.

After the final whistle at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon, Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginbotham took to Twitter to send a message to Leeds boss Monk and first-team coach James Beattie.

Higginbotham admitted that he was ‘delighted’ to see both Englishmen after their 3-2 victory, stating that they are a good, young management team who are showing their worth at Elland Road.

Having gone through so many managers under Massimo Cellino’s regime, Leeds appear to have struck gold by landing Monk, and he now deserves and needs backing – both in patience and in the transfer market – by Cellino if Leeds are to finally make their Premier League return this season.
