Former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke has criticised Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen on Unibet.co.uk.
Janssen joined Premier League club Tottenham from Dutch side AZ in the summer transfer window.
According to The Daily Mail, Spurs had to pay AZ a transfer fee of £18.5 million in order to secure the services of the 22-year-old striker.
The Netherlands international striker has yet to score in the Premier League for the North London outfit.
The 22-year-old, though, has created six chances in seven league matches for Tottenham.
Former Arsenal midfielder Clarke, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, is critical of Janssen and has included the youngster in his list of ’11 new players who deserve to sent packing already after shocking starts’.
“I still believe the talented Dutchman can come good at White Hart Lane, but there’s no question he’s got off to a painfully slow start – scoring just once, a penalty against Gillingham, in ten appearances,” Clarke wrote on Unibet.co.uk.
“It will have been a hammer blow to learn that Son Heung-Min had been preferred to him as a striker against Manchester City last time out. That doesn’t bode well.”
Janssen has not been a massive hit in the Premier League so far, but he is a player who is very promising and talented.
Tottenham fans should have faith in the youngster and allow him time to settle in England.
Spurs are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 17 points from seven matches, just a point behind leaders Manchester City.
