Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have been linked with a rather bizarre move for the Premier League hitman.

Craig Burley has intimated to ESPN that the rumour about Rangers signing Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is not quite as unrealistic as it sounds.
Fans from both clubs were left puzzled earlier this week when The Mirror reported that Rangers were among the several clubs interested in signing the out-of-favour Belgian marksman, who cost the Premier League side £33 million last summer.
The report did not mention whether the Ibrox club were supposedly interested in a permanent move or a loan deal, though the latter is a lot more realistic.

The 23-year-old started just one league outing last season as the London club finished the campaign as Premier League champions, with Batshuayi netting five goals in 20 appearances in total.
Moussa Dembele joined Celtic from Fulham last summer and managed a 30-goal season as the Hoops won a domestic treble without losing a match.
With Batshuayi’s career in need of a tonic, Burley suggests that a spell in Glasgow is nothing to “scoff at”, claiming that Dembele’s success for the Bhoys has opened up a new avenue for high-profile talent looking to join Scottish football.

He told ESPN: “If he goes to Rangers then he’s one to watch. On the other side of the coin if he can’t score in Scotland then he’s in trouble. The standard up there is poor.
“It’s a big club. We saw young Moussa Dembele from Fulham. A lot of big clubs looked at him and Celtic took him and he lit Scottish football up. That’s not anything to be shouting about, but he actually did okay in the Champions League.
“So it [moving to Scotland] can give you an avenue and Rangers are a big club. I wouldn’t scoff at something like that [the rumour] but I would imagine that Rangers would have a problem with his wages unless Chelsea were to pay the bulk of that.”
