Stan Collymore thinks Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is outperforming Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham this season.
England are pretty blessed to have the talent they have at their disposal, as Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham are prime examples of that.
Both have made outstanding starts for Arsenal and Real Madrid, respectively, this season, but Collymore thinks Bukayo Saka has been the better player, as he told CaughtOffside.
The former Premier League striker stated that the Hale-End star has been ‘absolutely exceptional’ under the stewardship of Mikel Arteta.
Prior to the 22-year-old’s recent injury, he had five goals and five assists from ten games in all competitions, including a brace of assists on his Champions League debut.
In comparison, Jude Bellingham, after his summer transfer to Real Madrid, is proving his worth in some way because he has ten goals from his ten matches in all competitions, including two assists.

“The reason I’ve chosen Saka is because he’s not allowed, missing the penalty for England, which is only two years ago, to affect him,” said Collymore.
“Being a particularly young man, a relative rookie, he’s already being thought of as the top man, the game changer at Arsenal and he’s taking that all on board whilst scoring goals and creating chances. Just brilliant.
“I could equally say Jude Bellingham as my pick for the season’s best player so far. What an incredible start for life at the world’s biggest football club. His trajectory – Birmingham-Dortmund-Madrid – has always been forward. That dude has also very cleverly done well to escape the spotlight. He comes back and plays for England and if he plays poorly, he goes back to Madrid and plays well. Nobody’s really gonna care if you play poorly.
“For Saka at Arsenal, he’s still the top man, and he’s still doing it with the England squad. He’s been absolutely exceptional for me, and I’m really looking forward to him scoring the match-winner in a semi-final or a final which would completely banish the memories of his penalty miss.”
Bukayo Saka injury
The Arsenal forward missed his side’s win over Manchester City before the international break and was even called up by Gareth Southgate despite that situation.
But logic has prevailed, and to the relief of Arsenal fans, Saka has pulled out.
This is where Mikel Arteta and Co. will be hoping that their star man is resting up and getting ready for another gruelling set of matches, both in the Premier League and the Champions League.
