Don Hutchison has claimed to Premier League Productions that Harry Winks and Giovani Lo Celso simply cannot play together for Tottenham Hotspur.

Winks and Lo Celso could theoretically both start for Spurs this evening against Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho’s team selection yet to be seen.

However, Hutchison thinks that if Mourinho does partner Winks and Lo Celso together in midfield then it will be a mistake.

“I’m not sure you can go Harry Winks and Lo Celso as a pair,” Hutchison is quoted as saying by the Daily Express

“Good on the ball, but can you get the ball back?

“That’s my worry… so I’d try and find a way to get Sissoko in because I think his form in midfield has been good.

“Not in terms of him getting on the ball and spraying passes and opening defences up but he gives you that legs and stature where he can go box-to-box.

“Jose’s too smart to go with just Lo Celso and Harry Winks.”

Lo Celso and Winks have played together on multiple occasions for Tottenham this season, but Mourinho’s options in the middle are more plentiful now.

Moussa Sissoko has returned to full fitness, and he also has the likes of Gedson Fernandes and Eric Dier who can play in central midfield.

Winks looks a more likely starter than Lo Celso for Tottenham tonight.

The Argentine is still working his way back to full fitness, after picking up an injury, and has only two days of training under his belt.
