Celtic missed out on Ben Davies on transfer deadline day, as Neil Lennon’s top centre back target ended up signing for Liverpool instead.
The Bhoys were looking to sign Davies to bolster Neil Lennon’s defensive options, but came up short as Liverpool hijacked their move.
It now seems that Davies isn’t the only player Celtic missed out on last week, as Swedish talent Paulos Abraham also snubbed a move to Parkhead.
Abraham, 18, has emerged as one of Swedish football’s top young talents having already featured in AIK’s first team.
The teenager is a left winger or striker, and he has already bagged one goal in one game for AIK, which came in the Swedish Cup.
Abraham ended up signing for Groningen on deadline day, securing himself a big move to the Netherlands – and it seemingly came at Celtic’s expense.

TV pundit Patrick Ekwall told Fotboll Direkt that Abraham rejected Celtic, and he does agree that Groningen are better for his development.
Ekwall feels that Abraham would have been under huge pressure at Celtic, believing a move to Parkhead could have gone very badly for him and that Groningen is a safer option right now.
“I don’t know why Paulos rejected Celtic, but I think Groningen is the better choice for his career,” said Ekwall. “With him being so young if he was thrown into the spotlight and high pressure that surrounds Celtic, it could have ended badly. Groningen and playing in the Eredivisie offer a little more security for him,” he added.
