Both Derby County and Birmingham City were in action on Tuesday evening. While Derby took on Fulham at home in the Championship, the Blues faced Brighton and Hove Albion away.

Derby maintained their good run of form with a 4-2 victory over Fulham at the iPro Stadium. It was the Rams’ second successive league win following a narrow 1-0 success over Queens Park Ranges last weekend.

Meanwhile, Birmingham’s disappointing run of form continued as they went down 3-1 to Brighton away from home at the American Express Community Stadium.

Former Brighton player Adam Virgo, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT and BT Sport, believes that the Blues have gone backwards since sacking Gary Rowett.

Rowett, who is now in charge of Derby, was dismissed as the Birmingham manager in December when the club were seventh in the Championship table.

The Blues, who are now being managed by Gianfranco Zola, are now just six points above the relegation zone, while Derby still have a change of making the playoffs.
