Herculez Gomez has claimed that Arsenal transfer target and Chelsea star, Christian Pulisic, is playing ‘like a man possessed’ for the USA at the Qatar World Cup.

The USA are through to the knockout stages of the World Cup and Pulisic has been involved in both of the crucial goals scored by his nation.

Prior to going off injured with a ‘pelvic contusion’, the versatile forward ended up scoring the winning goal as his nation reached the last-16 and knocked Iran out, in the process.

On the Premier League stage, Pulisic is finding life difficult, but he was praised by former US international Gomez for what he is doing on the international scene, as he told ESPN.

“How many goals have the US men’s national team have at the World Cup,” asked Gomez. “Who has been involved in both goals? Goal and assist for Pulisic.

“This man is putting things on his shoulders. He is tired of hearing the rhetoric. He’s tired of the narrative of the English Premier League, that he’s not ready and he’s a role player.

“He understands the situation at Chelsea and he wants more. He is playing like a man possessed. He has been one of the best players for the US men’s national team.”

ARSENAL INTERESTED IN PULISIC

Another manager has entered the building at Stamford Bridge and Pulisic finds himself in a similar situation, and that’s trying to find his feet.

Despite his indifferent form, the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United are showing interest in the £58 million star.

That probably shows how much he is still valued and why Chelsea should provide him with more regular starts because he proves he can score those all-important goals when that chance does arise.
