It’s set to be an epic contest between Liverpool and Arsenal on Sunday at the Emirates as the Premier League title race will take another twist.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been near-on faultless this season and their only defeat came during that controversial game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

If Arsenal are to avenge their FA Cup loss against the very same opponents, then they will have to stop a forward line full of confidence, power, ruthless nature and threat.

On his day, Darwin Nunez can rip any team to shreds, but on the other, he can do the absolute basic things wrong, which frustrates the Liverpool supporters.

Former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke, whilst describing the 24-year-old as a ‘funny player’, admitted that he is somebody you would love to have in your team, as he told talkSPORT (04/02/24 at 8:15 am).

The one word that has been constantly been used to describe Darwin Nunez has been ‘chaos’ and Adrian Clarke thinks that’s what he will bring to the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta’s side should have put the game to bed in the FA Cup, but they didn’t and were then punished by a ruthless Liverpool team.

Yes, Darwin Nunez misses chance after chance, but if you don’t finish the job at the other end, then you are just opening the door for him to destroy you.

Darwin Nunez against Arsenal

“Nunez is such a funny player,” said Clarke. “I watched the game against Chelsea, but Nunez and Jota as well.

“But Nunez is just pure chaos. I like him. He misses about 8 out of 10 chances. He is still a player you want in your team. He’s brilliant to watch and I hope today is the day where he is wasteful.”

Arsenal need the win more

Given that it’s Liverpool sitting top of the tree, then a draw suits the Reds here because they will remain top regardless of Manchester City’s result against Brentford.

But, of course, this is the game for Klopp and his players to really lay down the marker and send out the message that they want this title.

The Merseyside club are still in every available competition and the dream is to win the quadruple in Klopp’s final season in charge.

And whilst a win would do Liverpool the world of good here, a defeat for Arsenal might just derail their campaign.
