Adam Virgo has hailed Steve Bruce ahead of a possible move to Aston Villa.

Pundit Adam Virgo has told The Football League Paper (09/10/2016) that he thinks Steve Bruce is a ‘great fit’ for Aston Villa, largely due to his man-management.
Villa are again searching for a new manager having sacked Roberto Di Matteo last Monday, following a dismal 2-0 defeat away at Preston North End.
With just one win in 11 Championship games this season, Villa desperately need somebody to come in and not only steady the ship, but also attempt to push up the table in search of a play-off spot.
Former Hull manager Steve Bruce
Whilst a host of managers have been linked with the job over the past week, Villa appear to be closing in on the appointment of Steve Bruce as their new boss, after he told Sky Sports that he has held talks with the club.
The 55-year-old, who left Hull City over the summer, will divide opinion at Villa Park; on the one hand, he has four promotions from the Championship to the Premier League to his name, and certainly knows what it takes to get out of the division.

However, Bruce also has an extensive history with Villa’s fierce rivals Birmingham City, having both played for and managed the Blues – and that may be hard to accept for some of the more partisan Villa fans.
Now, ahead of the potential appointment, Football League pundit Adam Virgo – seen on Channel 5’s Championship highlights show – has had his say on Bruce’s possible move to Villa Park.
As seen in Sunday’s (09/10/2016) edition of The Football League Paper, Virgo suggested that Bruce is a great fit for Villa, and thinks this ability as a man-manager is ‘a massive factor’ for Villa as they need more confidence in the ranks.
Ex-Hull boss Steve Bruce
“Steve Bruce would be a great fit for Aston Villa,” said Virgo. “Like Neil Warnock at Cardiff, you know exactly what you’re going to get. He knows the division. He’s won four promotions to the Premier League. He lives in the area and is good to go.”
“From talking to friends in the game, Steve’s man-management is second to none. When you’ve got big name players earning lots of money – as Villa have – that’s a massive factor. At that level, ability takes care of itself. It’s about managing a dressing room and giving people confidence. Given the talent in their squad versus the results on the pitch, that’s clearly an issue at Villa Park.”
“I’ve heard talk that Villa are chasing David Wagner, who is doing a great job at Huddersfield. But, for a rock solid guarantee of improvement, you can’t look further than Bruce,” he added.
