Speaking on the Official Leeds United Podcast, Kalvin Phillips has been discussing Patrick Bamford and his boxing ability.

Bamford and Phillips have spent a lot of time this season out injured at the same time, and one thing they’ve been doing in order to stay fit is a bit of boxing training.

While neither man is the next Josh Warrington, there’s a bit of friendly competition brewing between the pair about who is the hardest puncher.

Bamford claimed that he himself was the hardest puncher at the club, and Phillips echoed that sentiment, stating that the striker is really strong.

What’s been said?

Phillips spoke about Bamford’s strength.

“Pat is really really strong, right and his one punch is quite hard, but his jabs and stuff, he’s tickling it. His big punch isn’t too bad, but he uses up all of his energy doing that,” Phillips said.

Maybe one day

It seems as though Phillips and Bamford both love their boxing training, and maybe one day we could see a charity bout between the pair.

Ever since Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather, celebrity boxing has been on the rise, and with Patrice Evra confirming that he’ll be stepping into the ring in next month, perhaps this is something Bamford and Phillips could look into one day.

Of course, Leeds’ physio probably wouldn’t be impressed by the idea, so this may be one for in a few years’ time, but we’re sure that a lot of people would pay a lot of money to watch such a spectacle.
