The Stoke City hitman could be a useful addition to the West Bromwich Albion squad.

Baggies fans are becoming well accustomed to their club missing out on many of their top transfer targets over recent years.

Tony Pulis will be under intense pressure to deliver the goods this summer, as he looks to build a squad capable of finishing inside the top half of the table once again.

One particular area of concern for the West Brom boss will be his forward department, with last season’s tally of 43 league goals the second lowest of all the teams inside the top 12 of the table.

With this in mind, a useful short-term option for the Black Country outfit could be Stoke City striker Peter Crouch, who Pulis signed for the Potters way back in 2011.

Whilst the 36-year-old would not be the kind of blockbuster signing the Baggies fans crave, he would certainly help plug a hole in the West Brom squad, and he certainly still has a lot to offer at the very highest level.

The manner in which Crouch holds up the ball, combined with his technical ability would surely enable Pulis’ side to play in a more fluent style.

His height, and obvious strength in the air, would also be a huge asset to the Baggies, what with the emphasis they place on set-pieces.

The former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur forward’s attributes would compliment those of Salomon Rondon perfectly, and the pair could link up to form quite the potent partnership.

The 42-capped England international’s deal at the BET365 Stadium has just 12 months left to run, so Mark Hughes could very well be tempted into selling him this summer, rather than lose him for nothing next year, should a reasonable offer be made.

And West Brom should seriously consider bringing Crouch to the Hawthorns, as a short-term solution to their goalscoring woes.
