Claude Puel wants England star Harry Maguire to remain a Leicester City player, but now needs to act to ensure that happens.

As reported by Goal, Claude Puel believes Harry Maguire should stay at Leicester City in order to further his development, rather than rush into a move away just one year after joining from Hull City.
Maguire’s stock has soared following a brilliant showing at the World Cup with England in which he helped the Three LIons reach a semi-final.
The 25-year-old was one of Gareth Southgate’s most consistent performers throughout the tournament, and was defensively solid as well as an attacking threat from set pieces, something which allowed him to nod the opener against Sweden in the quarter-final.
As reported by the Telegraph, Maguire is at the top of Jose Mourinho’s wish list, and there is an anticipation that, with time fast running out, Manchester United will table a formal bid for the centre-back soon.
Puel said of the star, as reported by Goal: “It is important for Maguire to continue for Leicester. It is a good feeling. If our players are interesting a lot of clubs it is because we are recruiting well and doing good work. It is important we continue this.
“When we welcome players back from the World Cup, I hope we can give them the opportunity to continue advancing their ambitions and perform in the Premier League.”

Puel may obviously want to keep hold of Maguire, but he is now arguably the Foxes’ best player, and the Frenchman has to ensure that he provides him with a reason to stay at the King Power.
Riyad Mahrez has left join Premier League champions Manchester City, which will seriously hurt the team in the final third. Puel needs a replacement for the Algerian, or a general marquee signing to prove to Maguire that there is no real reason to depart just yet.
According to TuttoJuve, Leicester are interested in signing Juventus star Marko Pjaca, who would be an ideal replacement for Mahrez. It would be a statement of intent from the Foxes and may just force Maguire to think twice about possibly jumping ship in the next two weeks.
