Crystal Palace are the latest club to be linked to Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi, but are unlikely to be able to compete for his signature.

According to the Express, Leicester midfielder Wilfred Ndidi’s impressive performances this season have led to links to Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Southampton.

The BBC reported that Leicester signed the 20-year-old for approximately £15 million from Belgian club Genk in the summer.

Ndidi was brought in to fill the void left by the departure of Frenchman N’Golo Kante, who left the Foxes to join Chelsea following their unexpected Premier League title winning campaign.

All Nigeria Soccer now reports that Crystal Palace are also interested in Ndidi, having reportedly sent scouts to watch him in March while playing for his national side.

Although the Nigerian international would undoubtedly be a welcome signing for Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace side, they would be hard put to match the offers from rival clubs such as Manchester United and Arsenal.

With the top clubs being able to offer the attractive possibility of playing in Europe (and can probably offer more in terms of pay), Crystal Palace winning the race to sign the Ndidi will likely remain a distant pipe dream.
