Huddersfield should move for Chelsea’s Bertrand Traore ahead of Premier League campaign.

Bertrand Traore spent the 2016/17 season on loan with Dutch club Ajax, where he scored nine goals and provided two assists in his 24 Eredivisie appearances.

The 21-year-old has been impressive during his time in the Netherlands and was Ajax’s standout performer in their 2-0 Europa League final defeat to Manchester United.

His performances look unlikely to help him break into the first team at Stamford Bridge however, with Chelsea willing to offload him for approximately £17.5million, reports Talksport.

The Burkina Faso international is thought to be interesting a number of clubs outside of the United Kingdom, including French sides Marseille and Lyon, as well as Bundesliga club Schalke.

He might be surplus to requirements for Antoine Conte’s side, but Traore’s performance against Manchester United proved he has the ability to compete against Premier League opposition; and Huddersfield should target him.

The Terriers secured promotion to the top-flight after beating Reading 4-3 on penalties in the play-off final but will need to strengthen their attacking options if they are to survive in the Premier League.

David Wagner’s side were the lowest scoring side of the top six in the Championship this season, scoring 56 goals in 46 league games.

They will need to improve their ability in front of goal if they are to break down the Premier League’s toughest defences next season; and the signing of Traore could be the outlet they need to make that happen.

The pacey forward has the movement and agility to cause problems for opposition as well as a willingness to get on the ball and make things happen for his team.

David Wagner applies a high energy and high pressing football style at Huddersfield and the energy and pace of Traore would enable to cope perfectly with that demand.

Signing the Chelsea youngster could be the attacking and creative outlet the Terriers need to be competitive in the Premier League and, at £17.5m, he could prove to be a bargain.
