Everton may well be keeping tabs on Mohammed Ihattaren’s progress at PSV Eindhoven.

Everton may well be looking for Gylfi Sigurdsson’s eventual successor, with the Iceland star set to enter his 30’s in a matter of days.
Sigurdsson is far from a spent force, as his display against Wolves on Sunday showed, but Marcel Brands may just have some young playmakers in mind to eventually take over from him.
Everton’s summer interest in Flamengo playmaker Reinier – as reported by Globo Esporte – shows that Brands is looking for a young playmaker, but raiding his former club may also be in his mind.
Earlier this year, Brands told Voetbal International that he rates PSV Eindhoven talent Mohammed Ihattaren, so much so that he would ‘have him at Everton tomorrow’ if he could.
Brands worked at PSV when Ihattaren was in the youth ranks there, but the 17-year-old is now showing his class for Mark van Bommel’s first team.
After emerging last season, the teenager already has three goals and one assist in six games, in the Eredivisie and Champions League qualifiers, whilst also notching two goals in 45 minutes for PSV’s Under-21’s.

Ihattaren is receiving huge plaudits in the Netherlands for his performances, and whilst Van Bommel was a nasty midfielder in his playing days, he’s helping get the best out of the talented young playmaker at PSV, showcasing his technical abilities and his influence on the game at such a young age.
Ihattaren helped lead a fightback against RKC Waalwijk on Sunday, and his performances are showing exactly why Brands rates him so highly.
At the time, Brands suggested that Ihattaren needed an intermediate move before heading to a club like Everton, but if he keeps up this impressive start to the season, Brands may well have to re-think that idea and make his move.
