Everton have a chance of keeping Idrissa Gueye as PSG reportedly eye Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi.

Idrissa Gueye annoyed quite a lot of Everton fans last week.

The former Aston Villa midfielder was the subject of a couple of bids from Paris Saint-Germain in the final week of the January window, the biggest of which was £28 million according to The Echo.

And it looks like that interest has had an effect on the 29-year-old, who admitted his affection for the Ligue 1 champions in an interview with L’Equipe last week.

Gueye might well be hoping for PSG to renew their interest this summer, but have they already moved on to another target?

According to The Express, the French giants are now looking at £60 million-rated Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

Like Gueye, the 19-year-old is a central midfielder and signing both seems illogical at this moment in time.

If Thomas Tuchel signs the Gunners star then maybe, just maybe, it means that the Everton man is no longer a target, which may reassure worried Toffees fans.

The Senegal international has made 21 Premier League appearances for Everton this season.
