Paris Saint-Germain defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye has praised Everton central defender Mason Holgate on Instagram for his performance against Liverpool at Anfield.
Holgate played well for Everton in their 2-0 win against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Saturday evening.
The 24-year-old centre-back was a leader at the back for the Toffees, made a great interception, and was always organising the back-line.
According to WhoScored, the former England Under-21 international had a pass accuracy of 57.1%, won two headers, took 48 touches, and made one tackle, two interceptions and four clearances.
Gueye played with Holgate at Everton, and the PSG star has praised him on Instagram, as shown below.
Top-four dreams
The win against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby has enhanced Everton’s chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are now seventh in the league table with 40 points from 24 matches, just three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, who have played 25 games.
With the likes of West Ham, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal also in the running for the Champions League places, it is not going to be easy for Everton, but they have a great chance of ending up in the top four.
