Arsenal now face competition from PSG in the race to sign Michael Olise as the French giants attempt to replace Lionel Messi.

It was the Daily Mail who claimed that Arsenal want to bring the Crystal Palace No.7 to the Emirates Stadium.

Now – according to L’Equipe in France – PSG are keen to sign Olise.

What’s the story?

Well, Messi looks to have burned his bridges in Paris.

The Argentina international has been suspended for two weeks after embarking on an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia as part of a promotional commercial agreement.

Some PSG supporters have since been seen chanting against Messi – according to L’Equipe, the South American will now be leaving the French giants this summer.

Among the options to replace the World Cup winner are Olise – in addition to Rayan Cherki, Bernardo Silva and Moussa Diaby.

The Crystal Palace wonderkid – who the south Londoners paid just £8m for in July 2021 – has developed into one of the best attackers in the Premier League, scoring two goals while also providing nine assists in 33 appearances this season.

Only Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka and Kevin De Bruyne have provided more assists in the Premier League this term.

Olise should choose Arsenal over PSG

If it comes down to a situation where Olise has a choice between PSG and Arsenal, he should choose the latter.

Things are a bit chaotic at PSG right now, with The Sun even claiming that Neymar is up for sale after fans were seen protesting outside of the Brazil international’s home.

There is a lot of pressure to succeed, which may not be good for Olise at the age of 21.

Contrastingly, Mikel Arteta has created an environment where young players can express themselves and develop, with the likes of Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba in particular thriving.

Be sure to keep an eye on Olise’s situation over the summer, as he could be leaving Crystal Palace.
