According to a report by French outlet L’Equipe, PSG are keen on signing Goncalo Ramos, who has been linked with a move to Newcastle United.
The Portuguese striker has struck 23 goals in all competitions this season, including an impressive 7 in the Champions League for Benfica. As the 21-year-old continues to impress week in, week out, former Russian international Igor Korneev has said that is worth £106 million.
With a report claiming that Goncalo Ramos was certain to leave the Primeira Liga club amidst interest from Newcastle, PSG have now shown their interest in snapping him up next season.
PSG eyeing Goncalo Ramos move amid Newcastle links
Interestingly enough, Fabrizio Romano had stated that Eddie Howe’s side had considered the youngster as their ‘top target’ before they even considered the coup of Alexander Isak.
L’Equipe have now reported that PSG sporting director Luis Campos is aiming to make blockbuster moves in the attacking department, with Newcastle target Goncalo Ramos as one of the players he will try to bring.

While it has also been stated that Campos plans to sign experienced players, the signings of Hugo Ekitike and Vitinha indicate that they could try to take a punt on some up-and-coming starlets as well like the Benfica man.
Newcastle could argue that they have a superior project
Sure, in terms of where PSG and Newcastle are in the footballing ladder respectively, the ‘outstanding’ Goncalo Ramos is likely to head to the Parc des Princes if he makes his mind up about an exit.
However, the Parisian project has not been particularly impressive for a while and with Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe constantly speculated with exits alongside constant managerial changes, he could be attracted by the prospect of joining the Magpies.
Despite being one of the richest clubs in the world, the successful appointment of Eddie Howe as well as their measured transfer approach should at least entice Ramos in comparison.
