The Liverpool striker would find it like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

Last night the Paris St. Germain president announced the club’s intention to bid for Luis Suarez this summer.

Yes the Uruguayan would be well paid, but there can be few places more unappealing to the striker.

This is because in France, the public image of Luis Suarez is not good, almost as bad as it is in England.

Just like Suarez’s fellow Uruguayans rallied behind him after the Patrice Evra row, the Frenchman’s countrymen have no love for the controversial striker.

In case you have been on the moon over the past year, Suarez was banned for eight games for being found guilty by an FA commission of racially abusing Patrice Evra.

If Suarez was to leave Liverpool, it would not be because he was unloved by the club, he has received nothing but support from his manager, even if he was ordered to apologise by the club’s hierarchy.

It would surely only be because he would rather play in a country where he felt more at home, Spain or Portugal, given his native Uruguay’s hispanic culture.

France would be completely the opposite, and leave him with a new language to learn and a fresh start, but a whole new host of problems, and the issue with Evra would never go away.

So Liverpool fans should not be concerned at PSG’s interest, Suarez will not be tempted. Liverpool are hardly in a position where they need to sell, so the interest for now is just a sideshow.

Liverpool should concentrate on their league form, and working on their summer plans to reinvigorate their squad. That should mean keeping Suarez, and not selling him.

Until a huge big comes from Barcelona or Real Madrid, and Suarez says, ‘I want out’ – there is no need for supporters to worry.

Do you PSG have any chance of signing Suarez? Or do you think Liverpool should cash in for him?
