Paris Saint-Germain chief Leonardo could deny Newcastle United two transfer targets with his plans for Georginio Wijnaldum and Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic, per Calciomercato.it.
Leonardo wants to explore a deal to take Brozovic to the Ligue 1 side in January. He would replace Wijnaldum, who has struggled to settle since leaving Liverpool during the summer.
Mauricio Pochettino has only started Wijnaldum in 10 of his 20 outings in all competitions so far this term. The Dutchman has also only opened seven of his 14 league appearances.

Newcasle want Wijnaldum and Brozovic transfers
Wijnaldum could now already be heading for the Parc des Princes exit door once the sales start next month. Reports by 90min add the midfielder’s agent has also contacted a host of Premier League clubs – including PIF-owned Toon – to sound out interest in his services.
Newcastle showed some interest in a return to St James’ Park for Wijnaldum, yet may have to battle Rafa Benitez. The Spanish coach would also like to see Everton secure a deal.
Paris Saint-Germain Director of Football Leonardo could also stop Wijnaldum returning to Newcastle six-years after leaving in a £25m transfer. His plans may also stop the Magpies signing another target in Brozovic, who Calciomercato note has received a contract offer.
Newcastle have offered Brozovic a €7m-a-year (£115k-a/w) deal to join on a free transfer from Inter Milan. The Croatian will currently be a free agent at the end of the season.

Leonardo to deny Newcastle PSG’s Wijnaldum and Inter’s Brozovic?
Leonardo may stop Newcastle securing transfers for Paris Saint-Germain’s Wijnaldum and Inter Milan’s Brozovic, however. He hopes to agree a swap deal for the midfielders, as the Parisiens chief admires what the Croatian can offer.
Inter are still working to agree a new contract with Brozovic and are confident of finding a solution, though. Recent talks between the San Siro hierarchy and the 29-year-old’s agent proved productive and will meet again around Christmas to try and finalise his new deal.
The Serie A title-holders, therefore, are reluctant to listen to Leonardo’s offer right now. But Inter Milan changing their stance could spell bad news to Newcastle’s transfer plans.
