Earlier this summer, it was said that Tottenham were offered the chance to sign Nordi Mukiele for £17m, as Chelsea also expressed an interest.
The 24-year-old was also of interest to Arsenal in January, but as no bids arrived from the Premier League, the France international ended up on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain.
Now, the French champions have wrapped up a £13m deal for Mukiele.
What’s the story?
Well, Thomas Tuchel has officially missed out on the 24-year-old, who he was hoping to bring to west London.
However – in our view at least – the big question is why Antonio Conte decided against signing Mukiele, after he was offered the chance to sign him for just £17m.
It has been said that the Italian wants another right wing-back despite the signing of Djed Spence, and the Frenchman would’ve been perfect having starred for RB Leipzig in that role last season.

Mukiele scored two goals in 38 appearances, while also providing five assists for the German outfit.
Of course, Spurs are entitled to their opinion, but if the defender has been deemed good enough to play alongside the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi in Paris, he surely would’ve benefitted Tottenham.
Who Tottenham could turn to after Newcastle target joined PSG
Interestingly, Conte and Fabio Paratici – Director of Football at Tottenham – have options to choose from as they aim to sign another right wing-back.
Wolves speedster Adama Traore – who was a target in January – remains on the radar, after Barcelona decided against triggering their option to buy him on a permanent basis.

Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo is, strangely, another option at wing-back, despite acting as more of a forward under José Mourinho.
According to 90min, Conte and Paratici see a future for the Italy international in the wing-back role.
Keep an eye on developments at Tottenham, as we don’t think Spurs are done in the market just yet.
