PSG could reportedly place Renato Sanches on the transfer list one year after signing the Portuguese midfielder, with Newcastle United and Tottenham tracking the Ligue 1 star.

According to Le Parisien, the 25-year-old is one of many players who could be axed by PSG this summer as Christophe Galtier plans to ship off as much deadwood in the transfer window following on from another disastrous season for the French giants.

PSG crashed out early in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages and were also eliminated from the Coupe de France by rivals Olympique Marseille, with Ligue 1 the only piece of silverware the Parisian giants can now win this season.

As a result, a mass squad overhaul is in the making at PSG this summer, and Sanches could be one of the names placed on the transfer list despite only moving to Paris last year, though interest is already high in the midfielder, with 90min reporting that Newcastle and Tottenham are keeping tabs on the Portuguese star.

Lauded as ‘special’ by Magpies defender Sven Botman, PSG transfer listing Sanches could inspire more Premier League clubs to chase the midfielder, with the former LOSC Lille man a player who could easily thrive for some of the biggest teams in England.

Moreover, with PSG eyeing a total overhaul, there’s a chance that the French clubs could want a cheap transfer fee for Sanches, an incentive that could inspire Newcastle or Tottenham to make early bids for the Portuguese international in the coming weeks.

There’s no denying that PSG are in need of a huge overhaul this summer, with early reports suggesting that names such as Lionel Messi could leave the club, yet in the case of Sanches, the French club could soon regret offloading the midfielder if he does in fact leave.

Sanches thrived under Galtier at Lille as the pair won the Ligue 1 title in 2021, and whilst the 25-year-old is yet to hit the ground running in Paris, time is still very much on the midfielder’s side ahead of what is to be a significant summer of change for PSG.
