PSG are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal centre-back William Saliba, with the French giants impressed with what they have seen from the youngster this season.
According to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs via the Football Terrace, the 21-year-old has caught the eye of PSG after an incredible start to life in the Premier League, with Saliba establishing himself as one of the best talents in the division and one of Arsenal’s most important players.
With the Gunners working on tying Saliba down to a new long-term contract, clubs such as PSG are in a race against time to sign the France international with early signs suggesting that the defender will pen fresh terms with Arsenal to remain in north London.
Saliba’s current contract expires in 2024, though with the defender coming into his own at Arsenal, PSG would have to cough up quite the transfer fee if they’re to convince the Gunners to let the Frenchman leave the English capital for his native country and hometown.

Indeed, Saliba was born in the same commune of Paris as Kylian Mbappe, and whilst a return to the French city would be quite the story, PSG’s chances of signing the defender are still small, with Jacobs stating that the Ligue 1 champions would have quite the battle on their hands.
The journalist said when asked about PSG’s interest: “PSG are definitely looking for defenders. I see no reason he would want to leave but the only caveat there is he did love living in France. If PSG did come in, it might give him a decision to make.”
Arsenal have to sign Saliba to a new contract amid PSG interest

Saliba has been nothing short of a revelation for Arsenal this season, with the 21-year-old arguably the best defender in the Premier League this campaign as the Gunners still sit top of the Premier League table. Which is why the club must work fast to sign the centre-back down to a new contact.
After all, PSG will likely stop at nothing to sign Saliba if the French club believe there is a chance a deal could be possible, and for Arsenal, the defender is simply too good and too exciting to leave after just one season with the senior team.
