Declan Rice told Match of the Day that reported Tottenham target, Raheem Sterling, has ‘proven so many people wrong’.

Whilst Tottenham legend, Jurgen Klinsmann, claimed that he is a ‘huge fan’ of the thriving England hero.

There has been a lot of talk about Sterling’s future during these past few months, including rumours that he has been offered to Tottenham.

Sterling, given the bar he has set in his career, had an indifferent campaign last time out, but he’s showcasing his true worth at Euro 2020 this summer.

The light-footed winger has netted on three occasions and both Rice and Klinsmann lauded the Manchester City player for his efforts.

“Raz has just proven so many people wrong,” said Rice. “He’s scoring so many goals for us. He is crucial.”

Klinsmann on Sterling: “I am a huge fan. He takes people on. He is courageous. And he helps out defensively too.

“So, he is very disciplined in the way his game is. Very mature for his age, so huge, huge compliment.”

Even though Sterling’s name has been linked with Tottenham, it seems as though he isn’t happy that he is being put in that situation.

About 18 months ago, the £49 million star (BBC Sport) was one of the best players in the world, that’s how high he was setting the standards.

But that dip in form last season was pretty clear to see because of how high he had set the bar for himself.

And despite questions being asked about him before a ball was kicked at Euro 2020, the real Raheem Sterling has stood up and he is on the road to helping his country possibly win Euro 2020.
